ready, set, go...

Here I go to Fiji! I think I actually will remember this, now. I bid you all adieu and will see you from the South Pacific in a few days.

Best of all wishes on your adventure, Taylar!!!! I've saved your link and I will be checking in on you often. Is your regular mailing address the one on your email?? I'll try to send some postcards at least..... Love, Jeanne

Taylar, thought of you all day yesterday as you began your journey of a lifetime. Remember you as a small girl always saying, "someday I will join the peace corp." And here you are, following that dream. We will miss you but know that you are doing what you always dreamed of doing. I can only hope that some day in the next two years, I will be able to visit you on those tropical islands. Stay safe and remember we all miss and love you back here. Good morning Taylar. My first e mail to you was suppose to go yesterday. Woke this morning to find it still sitting here. Oh well. So here is your Monday morning hello from us. Will try to keep on here daily and fill you on "news". Hope your day yesterday went well. Sure you are exhausted. Will send pictures today in the mail of the boys from the weekend. Weather here today will be in the upper 60's but then rain this afternoon. By the end of the week, almost 80. Yippee. Send us warm sun. Have a wonderful day. Love you...Auntie Lani

Hey Tay, hope you're having fun. Mom was really, really freaked when she saw the terror level was "Orange", which means really high. But, I think Fiji is pretty safe. Then, we had a hilarious discussion about where your plane was...Mom couldn't find it and I thought I saw it but discovered I was really looking at a ramp. Then we had a big debate about what UA planes looked like. We must have sounded like some pokes off the farm. But we saw you take off, which was cool. Hope you remembered your gum. :)

Hi Taylor!

By now you're in LA, almost ready for the flights over! You'll get a free day of life just for flying across that line. Or else you'll lose a day forever, I forget which. You'll do great in PC and will be a terrific PCV, no doubt. Best luck for Training. --Adam

So good to talk to you last night, Taylar. You sounded much better than when you called from LA.

It's a beautiful, sunny day today and I'm thinking it must look like this in Fiji! Hard to believe that you're on your 2nd day there. Still missing you but at least I've stopped crying!

Take care and I'll be waiting for your next call. xoxoxoxo MOM

So, you will never in a million years guess what I got to see today at school...(well, here's the setup, first: subbing for Mr. Gefvert, who teaches ag science...he has a student teacher which meant that I had to do nothing all day, which was okay...) but here's what first hour did: THEY STUFFED A SQUIRREL. Yes, I got to see kids learning taxidermy. Did you know there's a greenhouse at PHS? And mice (little, cute white ones)? And rabbits, which didn't mate? And a dagoo (sp?) I didn't even know what a dagoo was before today. In case you're wondering, it's a cross b/t a mouse and a gerbil. At least, that's what Scott McLean told me. I learned about the animals b/c 2nd block was making a maze for these creatures. Anyway. Oh, and yesterday a kid got 2 days in ALAC for stealing Ms. Imhoff's stapler and putting it in a jello mold. Apparently she FREAKED out and went hysterical, crying and screaming, etc. It's been a couple of really crazy days. Maybe even as crazy as yours? :)
